Jesus christ - nothing compares to him in terms of security

Jesus Christ Security

The definition for security is freedom from danger, risk, etc.; safety.

There are all sorts of life issues that use the word security.

Financial advisors for example vie for the country's workforce confidence in what they offer in terms of financial security.

The world is selling security in every way shape and form.

Every advertisement from 'have a good time with this alcoholic beverage' to try this new pharmaceutical drug (never mind the possible side effects are more lengthy than describing the possible benefit).

There is also as related to Jesus Christ and rightly so the fact of His security. As believers in Jesus we know His security surpasses by limitless bounds the security found anywhere else.

John 8: 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Christianity as a whole with little to no disagreeing I think does agree with everything the preceding verses offer.

There is however a quick shift in those agreeing or not in the arena of Jesus providing eternal security (be saved) without room for variance to lose (be lost) that eternal security. Agreeing to disagree in a friendly manner is usually adhered to by most people of varying denominations with the somewhat delicate issue of eternal security.

Personal thoughts are not relevant we can agree at least in terms of 'everyone has an opinion'. However God's Word I believe IS relevent to ALL. No barriers are visible in probably the most popular scripture in the world, John 3:16. A simple 'whosoever' leaves NONE out.

There is a man found in scripture several times. His name is Demas. He is mentioned by Paul in the excellent company of St. Luke.

Colossians 4:14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.

Then again Paul brings up Demas name as among fellow labourers.

Philemon 1:24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow labourers.

Once again Paul, this time in his solemn charge to Timothy and within those last few paragraphs of his second letter speaks of Demas once again but this time with apparent disappointment, probably hurt also.

2 Timothy 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

In uncompromised truth Paul is stating the obvious current condition of Demas. James below tells all in no uncertain terms that mere friendship of the world makes one the enemy of God. Demas was defined as transcending beyond friendship to loving this world.

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

From John 8:38 above there is absolutely nothing (no thing) that can separate us from the love of God. The man in the mirror however is not a thing we only gaze at the reflection of. Our flesh, if allowed to run rampant by our soul (mind will and emotions) is truly our own worst enemy. Our choice is everything for the destination of our eternity.

Hebrews 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

There is no argument that the pleasure of sin is not truly a pleasure. Gratifying extremely to the flesh. Wisdom quickly is recognized in the preceding verse with the categorized inclusion of the word 'season' with the word 'sin'.

One who is simply able to comprehend the current season knows how temporary it is.

Take today for example. This is obvious even in our commercial world of retail goods by marketer's advertising the forthcoming season attire mid way in the current season.

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Demas yielded himself unwisely and obviously was by his choice in the sin unto death category at the time of Paul's writing.

This does not doom Demas as we or no one is able to ascertain. Having known the way and then become prodigal in his ways I believe is not necessarily separation from God forever. I have hope Demas did repent and is saved.

God’s Word by way of another passage found in 2nd Peter does agree with Romans 6:16 above. Notice below ‘they’ first escaped the world through Jesus Christ but then ‘they’ are again entangled by the world they are worse off than ever.

2nd Peter 2: 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Jesus Christ is the only real security available to the soul of man. God's unspeakable gift and joy unspeakable without end.

Opposite of one who chooses to never accept Jesus as Saviour or someone who knows Jesus and turns from Him yielding to the world becoming lost forever. There is weeping and gnashing of teeth without end.

Ezekiel 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Believer's today realize the new covenant in our Lord Jesus and that we as gentiles are grafted into the house of Israel. John 3:16 is for every single person on earth. This verse begins by saying For God so loved the world !!!
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if (all has to choose) any man be in Christ, he is (now) a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
